Editorial Policy

KireiScope is an independent Asian-beauty publication focused on making Japanese and Korean skincare easier to understand and shop. We love the thoughtful routines, elegant textures, and practical formulas associated with J-beauty. Our job is to help readers choose with more confidence—not to repeat marketing copy or make a product sound certain to work for everyone.

How our articles are made

Articles begin with a defined reader question and a structured source package. Depending on the topic, sources may include official product pages, manufacturer materials, current ingredient lists, retailer listings, and other relevant primary or authoritative references. Automation may help organize research, draft sections, format content, and run quality checks. It is not treated as evidence.

Before publication, an article must pass checks for sourcing, factual consistency, duplicate intent, unsupported claims, affiliate-link validity, formatting, and required disclosures. A human reviews the draft before it is published.

Product experience and evidence

KireiScope does not imply that a product was personally used or wear-tested unless the article identifies the tester and describes the method. When hands-on testing is unavailable, we provide source-based analysis and state the limits that materially affect the recommendation.

We aim to label the basis of important statements clearly:

  • Documented fact: supported by a cited product, manufacturer, retailer, regulatory, or research source.
  • Brand claim: attributed to the brand rather than presented as independently proven.
  • Editorial judgment: our reasoned interpretation of the available evidence and the reader’s needs.

Ingredient lists and product details can change. Readers should confirm the current packaging and ingredient list, especially when managing allergies, sensitivities, pregnancy-related questions, or a diagnosed skin condition.

How recommendations are selected

We consider decision factors such as skin-type fit, texture and finish, routine compatibility, limitations, value, availability, and meaningful alternatives. A commercial relationship never turns an unsupported product into a recommendation.

For new automated commercial articles, a product must have a manually verified affiliate destination before it can enter the drafting workflow. That commercial eligibility rule does not replace editorial evidence checks, and it means the pool considered by those articles may not include every product on the market.

Affiliate links, gifts, and partnerships

Some links earn KireiScope a commission if a reader makes a qualifying purchase, at no added cost to the reader. Affiliate relationships do not determine the factual conclusions of an article. Commercial links are disclosed near the recommendation and explained in our Affiliate Disclosure.

If KireiScope accepts a gifted product, sponsorship, or paid brand partnership in the future, that relationship will be clearly identified on the affected content. Payment will not purchase a positive conclusion.

Health and safety boundaries

KireiScope provides general educational information, not medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Skin reactions are individual. Readers with persistent symptoms, severe reactions, allergies, or medical concerns should consult an appropriately qualified healthcare professional.

Corrections and meaningful updates

We correct material factual errors and update articles when products, formulas, availability, evidence, or our conclusions materially change. A page’s updated date should reflect a substantive editorial change—not a cosmetic refresh intended to make old content appear new.

To report an error, missing disclosure, or unsupported statement, email kireiscope@protonmail.com with the page URL and the concern. We will review the evidence and make an appropriate correction.
